On October 30th, 2018 Apple announced their new MacBook Air models, the user has been waiting for a MacBook Air upgrade for a very long time. But this time Apple made a key mistake and didn't even considered it as a requirement. So in this article, I'm writing why I think the MacBook Air becomes disappointing.
Now the key thing with MacBook Air was its battery life and also it's an only Unix based system that you can afford with sufficient specs. Now the thing is there are a lot of students in Computer Science, IT etc and when it comes to programming it's a lot easier and makes more sense on UNIX or Linux based system.
This made MacBook Air popular among students it affordable since it's an ultrabook it's very portable and it has a long lasting battery life which gives the ability to work for hours, anywhere without worrying about a power slot.
So coming back to what makes the 2018 MacBook disappointing? PRICING!
Yes, the new MacBook Air is priced at $1200 in India the new one cost around INR ₹1,14,900 MRP to ₹1,34,900 MRP for a more storage model and if you compare that to the previous one it cost around $900 that's INR 65K now that is a big difference.
The new pricing is so stupid that it makes no sense because Apple products used to have a degree in pricing and features from a product to product, like if you are buying a MacBook Pro > MacBook > Air and their prices used to differ from lower to higher. Now it's just a mess.
Just look at this comparison between the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air they cost almost exactly the same and yet the MacBook Pro has a better processor, slightly better GPU and comes with more storage.
Why would I buy a more MacBook Pro at this point? This doesn't make any sense to me. Tell me what do you think in the comments
